Who Are These People?

There are many journalists, reporters and broadcasters, far more skilled than I at unearthing and describing the problems that ‘authority’ foists upon ordinary people. The web also hosts innumerable blogs where spleen is vented, questions voiced and fingers pointed. I am not at all sure that I can better any of these. Even so, at least once a day I read in the paper or hear on the radio or TV a comment of such astonishing folly that I can only look to heaven and ask whoever may be listening – ‘Who Are These People?’

No one, of course, is actually listening, but here I can put my question with some chance of a wider airing even if no meaningful reply is forthcoming.
